The site from sending my email a notification every time someone posts- what setting do i change?
I thought I had done the change but the notifications were there again today?

Did you change them in User CP?

Control Panel > Settings & Options Edit Options > Messaging and Notification > Default Thread Subscription Mode select "no email notification"

Maybe it takes a day to change or maybe KM was still flicking switches yesterday?

I want to a switch (in my dumb heid) to stop me closing the tab after previewing messages and before clicking "submit". Grrrh done it again!:(
