Yupper, I'm back! the last year has seen a plethera of changes in my life; some easier to manage than others. The bottom line is I sold my house and bought a new one. Indeed, I downsized but, gee whiz, what a positive change!!!!! My new home is a manufactued one on a large piece of property on the edge of town with views to die for! I have enough land to build a new home if I choose or do just whatever! I'm currently thinking of a gazebo on a small piece of land overlooking the river....but need to find the right design. I have only two neighbors who are great and traffic consists of maybe six cars a day going by. It is so much better than living by the hiway as there is less noise and no air pollution! And the neighbors all agreed to take out the street lamp and now, when we go out at night, we can see the stars from our porches! Topper, my dog, is very happy with the large yard to run and play in and the cat is unhappy as she no longer has her own space...she is sharing with the dog! But she is managing and hides under the bed when she wants her own space! She now has window ledges to sit and look out and is enamored with all the birds fluttering about! I've tons of boxes to unpack and am getting to it a bit at a time. I find I need to get rid of most of it and so am giving it to a second hand store who recently opened in a nearby town by a wonderful woman who has sewing circles, weekly, in her store. I can't sew at all but now know where to go if I need something done! So things are loking up and am going to get a riding mower for the yard. So, look out world..when I mow, I'm gonna be a demon on wheels!!!!!
Hi Sal! It is so good to see you. What a great life you are making for yourself. And gee, I had to laugh: I have never heard of a neighborhood asking for *less* streetlights!! I mean, being from the city, I just can't imagine that-lol
I am so happy that things are going so well for you *and* that Topper is happy :doggy: I look forward to seeing your wit and wisdom back on the boards!!

Hi Sal. How nice for you not to have the light pollution spoiling your views of the night sky. I always miss the stars whenever I stay in a city or town overnight.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HAAAAA!!!
We missed ya! So happy to hear the move was such a good one and everyone is settling in. PM me your new address when you get the chance.
Gettin' a John Deere? You could get a plow blade for it, too! ;) Starting a new orchard in the spring?

Thanks all, for that warm welcome home! Swanscott, we haven't met but I do look forward to getting to know you! Hey, Lael...how have you been? Staying out of trouble? Ione, Babe has gotten a big work-out this winter and is running in top form! I just plowed off the deck! WT, I don't think I'll invest in the plow set-up as Babe is doing soooo welllll!!!! I am thinking trailor to tow would be helpful...hummmmm..gotta cogitate on that awhile longer! But an aerator would be good and a thatcher too! Ah, money, money, money.....when does it get to be free?!?

It gets to be free when the neighbor has the stuff, but can't run it - so you get to borrow it in exchange for helping out the neighbor. Or something like. True - ya got Babe, so you don't need a plow blade.
Glad Topper has lots of play space. With the vastly reduced traffic, does that mean she can be off leash freely?

Yes! Topper gets to be off the leash most of the time and since I plowed out a path in the snow, she also has a place to poop (snow is so high for her she swims in it!)!
