cats problems???

Even the vet. doesn´t seem to know what to do, my cat is loosing hair, she has got very nervos. There are no fleas, no worms. She eats o.k. nouse cold....trying to get some vitamin pills in to her, but you all know how difficult that is ........
She is only about eigth years old, so age should not be the problem, I be tearing my hair out soon!!!!!!!!!??

It could be an allergy..infact I would guess it might well be. If so, there is not much you can do..allergy testing is really expensive and you may never find out what it is!!

You might ask the Dr if a shot of cortizone might help..I only say that as I had a cat, long haired, who would loose her hair..her pattern was to loose it from her tail, back legs and upper body almost to her neck in a point..we think it was a flee allergy, but who knows..she never had many, but would go outside and get an occasional bite. That seemed to be the trigger..and then the vet would give her a shot..infact, LOL, she was crochety to the other cats, but when she got her shot, she was much nicer for at least a month..we called it her happy shot!!

She also was very healthy otherwise.

Some cats have an allergy to the food coloring in some cat foods...just a thought

Ask your vet to check the cat's thyroid level. Low thyroid can cause the hair to fall out in both humans and animals.
