This video is of Andreas Helgstrand and his 9 year-old mare, Matinee, at the World Equestrian Games.

It is the Musical Freestyle Dressage competition, and they pretty much wiped the floor with everyone else.

Turn up the sound and watch this mare dance... she is amazing... she KNOWS where the beat is. In the last minute of her dance, she literally floats. What a priviledge to see this!

That's a great vid. I have it on my favorites. It was interesting to watch the vid of the horse that ultimately won the competition. (Matine came in second).

The winner was a Dutch woman on an exquisite horse. It was so interesting to see how the moves of the very spirited young horse translated to a more "classical" style. Each video helped me to appreciate the other. And the running commentary on the winning horse vid was educational as well.

I've always been aware of dressage, but never paid all that much attention to it.

Naturally, I still like Matine's performance better, even though the Salinero's performance is also beautiful.
