....to go somewhere!!!

I have been learning driving in traffic for the past 2 weeks with this guy who teaches as a part time job, and yesterday was the first time I took the car out on my own to actually go somewhere!
I tried driving around the block before that, but yday, I took Kavya and went over to my cousins house for lunch and back!:)

I am soo pleased with myself :D

Its still too scary to drive alone to work, but atleast I have started and just have to persist.....Kavya was too cute - sitting at the back and wondering what I was doing in the front....

I'm not sure though about how much she doesnt understand, as I pulled out from my apartment, she threw her head back and laughed out loud!!! :p

 And I can just see her bafflement about being in the back.

Congrats, Raji! Talk about trial by fire - learning to drive in a major Indian city! (Well, even NYC, I suppose). I was terrified enough in a friendly suburb. Onya!

Now, remember, when entering a roundabout, the driver on the left has the right of way. Also the driver on the right and the driver in the middle.

Does Chennai have the wandering cows-in-traffic scenario of Mumbai, or is that more unique to Mumbai?

Congrats!!
I was wondering about the roaming animals, too. And everyone on bikes,it is great that you did this on your own and had a safe ride. :bike: :bike: :bike:

I can understand completely. I didn't get my license until I was 25 years old. I needed it to take my oldest son to his kindergarten class which was clear across town. The first few times I drove with trepidation, but as I gained experience, it got much better.

Good on ya, Raji!

Thanks y'all! Now if I could only push myself to get out early in the morning for some practice drives - what with it being all rainy and cold, I just dont seem to be able to get out of bed!

Chennai does have cows, but they seem to be more in pockets and not all over....
