Well I have finally lost a stone - only another one to go. I have been dieting and walking (5 out of 7 nights) for the past two months. The diet is fine but I love the walking, I walk with a friend and twice a week we do 5 miles the other nights between 2 and 3 miles.

:walking: :walking: :walking: :walking:

WOW, that is great!! Just curious, do two stones equal a rock??

Sorry I had to do it...actually I just looked stone up the other day, as my friend has a long distance English girlfriend and she told Patty how much she weighed in stones..LOL, we both were like..Hummmmmmmm???

You are doing wonderful..

Do you power walk or just walk? i'm so jealous cos i've lost nothing and ive been counting caloriesYears ago I dieted by counting calories, but that didn't work. The Weight Watcher's diet is based on calories + fat + fiber, and emphasizes certain foods and activity (exercise). This worked. Maybe your body needs more then just cutting calories.

The diet I have been following is the Weight Watchers one - I don't attend the meetings but my friend does and passes on all the information.

14lb equals a stone and Libra 2 stone is a bolder at least it is for me. I forgot that most countries don't use stones, pounds and ounces.

We don't actually power walk but our walking has become faster and we cover distances much quicker than we did - 5 miles takes about 1 hour 30 minutes but we do check out other peoples gardens and houses on route.
Not that we are nosey or anything!!!!

Thanks for the concern Molly but no I don't walk alone at night. I have lost another 2 1/4 lbs this week so am feeling fairly pleased with myself. Also the swimming is coming on and last night I managed 3/4's of a length (from the deep end to the shallow end) my heart was pounding with fright but I made it.

Sharon, You are doing great.WOW!! I was thin once and once upon a time I was 5ft 9inches tall. Now the nurse told me I am5ft 3inches. Wish I cold walk without my walker. I ran all my life and now I cannot even walk with out leaning on something. So young lady, keep up the good work, stay healthy and safe.

Molly I'm 5'10" and used to be 9stone 7lbs - talk about size zero. I am aiming to try and maintain my weight around 11stone 7lbs so I have around 7lbs still to loose. Part of the reason for my starting this diet was that like you my mum can not get around without a walker/trolley because of her arthritus(?) etc., her g.p. told my sister and I that the worst thing for this is her weight and the strain it puts on her joints. Now mum has always been well covered but since giving up work, getting loads of health problems and feeling like s--t things have just go worse - if I can avoid or at least make it less of a problem for myself then there is nothing for it but to loose some weight and stay as fit as I can managed. Thanks for the support Molly and keep pushing that walker.

Sharon, I'm impressed you've managed to lose a stone. That's about what I could do with shifting too. Heck, I go to considerable expense to buy lightweight hiking/camping gear, comparing tents etc. to the nearest 50g then I go and spoil it all by lugging an extra stone or more around on me!

Well done with the swimming. You've inspired me! Right now I'm off to look out my swimming cossie and will head for the pool tomorrow morning.

Well done to sleepymommy too!

I have now lost 1 stone and 8 pounds and gone from an almost size eighteen to today getting into size 14 trouser (slightly loose) and a size 12 top. I think I need to loose another 5 - 6 pounds and then I will have reached my goal weight.

Sharon, as with all the WWW women, I know you are beautiful, but this sounds so healthy too!!! Good for you...I want to be where you are, but as Frost says, I have miles to go!

So, when you loose those last couple pounds do we get a picture? That was just a hint. I have loved the Rosie pictures going around and now I want to see everyone. But, again, just a hint, I all ready have pictures of everyone in my mind (smile) of course, LOL, I would not trust my mind at all..I tend to see everyone here in purple tutu's.

Well done Sharon. You must be so darned proud of yourself - and justifyably so.

So you walk distance do you? I try and walk for 1/2 hour, but I should be doing what you're doing and aiming for a few kilometres.

Thank you both very much.
I would post a picture but I am not very good at that sort of thing. I am going to the get together in London on Wednesday so I think you may see a picture then.
