Some of the airlines have their schedules out that far -- US Air is, anyway. Southwest is only up to May online but maybe they would take a phone reservation if you ask. I imagine that hotels are booking then, as well. Go to it, Rosie! Let's get those details set so we know where and when to show up.

Too soon? NO!

The last I heard it was Chicago.

What dates? My nephew is getting married the first weekend of June, so that is out for me. I'm supposed to go to Indy Pride the second weekend, but can cancel if needed.

Yes, ditto on the date thingy. Mid to late June looks best from Ginny's post. At least it's a place to start.

No, I won't start another thread about me going direct from Long Beach to Chicago via Jet Blue :shhh:

Woo Hoo for the wwwomen gathering!
 :grphappy: :mmparty:

PS. Is the general consensus to stay in the actual CITY? More fun, more stuff to do.

Or should i shop around hotel costs in the SUBURBS?

I cannot afford to spend too much on a hotel room... $75-$80 a night is about what I can afford... Unless someone wants to share a room...

I also have to depend on public transportation (which I have not used since my first trip)... Unless some people are driving, and will let me ride with them. As of right now, I do not know if I will be arriving via bus or train... I also do not know where I will be arriving from... Could be CT, Fort Wayne, or Indianapolis...

Ginny, I doubt one can find a decent room in Chicago for less than $130 a night.

Depending on the # of people, we *may* be able to get a group rate.

I was talking w/a woman at the Congress Plaza Hotel (which is in the heart of the city) earlier when we were talking about this and she needed dates and # of people before she could quote me a discounted rate.

BUT I have had a few parties and such that we have stayed at the Congress Plaza, and we stayed there for $99 a night and they were nice rooms. (We booked three)

I dont know how much of a discount they'd give us if we booked more than that.
*edited to add

Also, I'm flexible either way. If someone wnats to share a room, I'd be more than happy to share w/someone. :-D or, if everyone wants their own, I'll get my own also.

I'm happy to share as well.:bigwave:

Melinda, do you think anywhere from the loop up through the Magnificent Mile would be ok to stay? I mean, if our first choice is downtown in or near the loop then we could sort of work our way up that far if the loop is too expensive. That is still near enough to walk there and the MM is fun! If you want, I'll help you anyway I can. I can keep a spreadsheet of wwwomen and their room preferences.

Also, I hope to come to visit myself in the Spring, now that you know Jet Blue.....;) I love that town!!!

Well, $99 for me alone would be ok, but $130 is not. Sharing a room, even at a low price, would still be good... Would mean more money to spend other things.

I will graciously accept any and all help :D

The Congress Plaza is on Michigan at Congress right across from Grant Park.

Once I get home, I will look at other hotels in the central loop around or near the MM. ( I was also wondering if perhaps somewhere near Navy Pier might be good as well)

But I welcome any and all suggestion and will track down any and all leads for great hotel prices.

And, if you're coming in Spring Via jet blue ;) we can always scope out neato places to visit with the rest of the ladies when they arrive.

Anyone know of any place(s) to rent an electric scooter that weekend? I may or may not need one by then, but I want to be prepared.

And I am ok sharing a room like I did with the Toronto time....I would prefer downtown if that is the best part of the city but I'll go with the group.....Dates are a bit of a tangle if it falls around the 17th- Son's B day and I would never miss that.

And,for any west coast Canucks who may like a mini wwwomen gathering,I'll be in Vancouver from around the 10th-17th May.:banana::banana:

And,I'll need help finding all the Mounties.:p:D

So, if I could please by the weekend get a general group count so I can shop some hotels this weekend. :o)

If we have enough we may even get a discounted group rate.

And, I'll try to stay as close to the "fun stuff" as possible. ( plus, I really only know the area of the city near the "fun stuff" ) ;)

Paranoid Lael checking in....

Since this Board (the Gathering Board) is open to the public, should we ask KM to keep it only for registered members? I mean, do we want everything we're going to do out in the open?

Just a thought...you know, it's hard being me. I think too much

Why did you delete them? I had started re-reading that thread yesterday and when I came back noticed it had gone.
